Miss Ofeq claimed to be well versed in art from both Caledon and the Mainland. Indeed, many of her writings contain some reference to artists and their creations if only indirectly. Her estate contained 782 pieces of art, most of which was sold off, discarded or fell prey to time and lack of proper care. Researchers at the Watkin Museum of History have labored for six years compiling a list of works known to have been owned at some point by Miss Ofeq. When a piece is discovered, every effort is made to obtain a snapshot or digital image and where possible acquisition of the piece for our permanent collection. This endeavor is not simply to celebrate the life of Miss Ofeq but to aid the visitor in understanding more about the times in which she, Miss Watkin and Old Mayfair flourished.
